TCCTA’s 77th Annual Convention is back in Frisco, Texas!

A TCCTA Convention badge is your all-access pass to the best classroom pedagogy and technology, community college specific exhibitors, nationally renowned speakers, and a state-wide network of peers and education partners. With more than 150 programs, we are creating experiences that feel tailor made to you! Join us for the biggest event of the year!

Here is your chance to network, learn from your colleagues, connect with other professionals who “get it” and grow. Join a history section presentation to learn more from a Pulitzer prize winning author, or stop by the cosmetology section to learn the latest on freestyle shears. There will be general speakers covering topics such as AI, dealing effectively with conflict, and, faculty favorite, Great Ideas for Teaching Students (GIFTS).

The exhibit hall will be filled with companies that want to talk to you, including the opportunity to discuss your personal financial future with a knowledgeable advisor or learn more about new textbooks and software. Check back soon for a preview of the agenda!

Plan Your Trip to Convention

In a few short months we will be together in Frisco for TCCTA's 77th Annual Convention. Here are a few helpful hints to make planning convention easier.

Convention Hours:

Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024:

  • 7:00 a.m. TOADN registration
  • 12:00 p.m. TCCTA Convention Registration Opens
  • 4:00-6:00 p.m. Exhibit Hall Open
  • 4:30 p.m. Reception
  • 5:30 p.m. President's Dinner (this is by registration on the app only and limited to 250 people)
  • 7:15 p.m. General Session, all members welcome
  • 9:00 p.m. President's Reception, all members welcome

Friday, Mar. 1, 2024:

  • 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. All day programming and registration
  • 9:00 a.m. GIFTS session, come get great ideas!
  • 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Bring your device and learn to use AI with a hands on tutorial
  • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Networking with your discipline cohorts, grab a lunch and meet great instructors
  • 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Lunch and Learn on "Demystifying AI" lunch is provided there are limited seating, first come basis
  • 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Visit the exhibit hall, meet our amazing sponsors and get new product ideas
  • 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. Bring your device and learn to use AI with a hands on tutorial

Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024:

  • 8:00 a.m. Programs begin
  • 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. National Society for Leadership and Success graduation ceremony and presentation
  • 11:45 p.m. Convention ends - Have a safe trip home!

Registration Tips: Onsite registration will be in the Frisco Convention Center starting at noon on Thursday. Friday Programs begin at 8:00 a.m.; you will want to register Thursday (before 6:00 p.m.) to avoid being late/missing anything exciting.

Transportation and Parking: Flying into DFW and Love Field Airports: The most cost efficient transportation to the host hotel is to Lyft/Uber as a group, so bring a friend!

Address for Drivers: 7600 John Q Hammons Dr., Frisco, TX

Parking: The Embassy has a self-parking garage and parking lot for $18/day. Valet parking is also available for $28/day.

Meals and Local Restaurants: The Embassy offers a free made-to-order breakfast and complimentary evening reception for all TCCTA members staying in the host hotel (so make those reservations before they sell out!).

While there is an on-site restaurant and coffee bar, the host hotel is surrounded by a grand variety of restaurants, shops, and activities to visit all within walking distance. Drop by TCCTA's information booth to obtain maps, discounts, and Frisco Visitor Guides.

    TCCTA is looking for 20 Great Ideas for Teaching Students (GIFTS)! These brief, Friday morning programs offer specific ideas for teaching and are designed to be of practical use to educators of all disciplines. Submit your proposal to gdel@tjc.edu



    On average, 1000+ educatore attend Convention for professional development. Part of that includes learning about new products, tools and systems that make teaching and growing their students' educational experience. Contact jtaito@tccta.org for more information.
