Friday, February 24th, 11:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

“Autodesk Fusion 360, Part 1”

Computer Aided Design software should be a vehicle for teaching STEM principles not the focus. In this hands-on workshop we will cover the fundamentals of what make Fusion 360 a different approach to Mechanical and Product Design software combining Parametric and Freeform modeling tools, 2D drawings, Simulation, and CAM software on an integrated collaboration platform. Coupled with the ability to run on Mac or PC students and teachers can connect to their data from anywhere at any time. By sampling the core workflows learners will see how quickly the concepts of the applications they know can be leveraged and new ideas adopted to give a broad understanding of this technology teaching tool in two short sessions. Please bring your laptops, iPads, or any other devise.

Thom Tremblay, Designer/Trainer, CAD Concepts and Design

Thom TremblayIn 1986 Thom Tremblay began using AutoCAD and by 1988 he became convinced that at 3D model was the best way to create the 2D drawing he needed. The next several years working as a drafter and mechanical designer in shipbuilding, planning, casework, commercial electronics, and centrifugal compressors eventually led Thom using his skills to teach others. With twenty years of experience consulting with businesses and education institutions of all types and sizes, Thom has developed an understanding of how people use and learn technologies. Thom also holds professional certifications in Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, and is an Autodesk Certified Instructor. Thom has authored several books on Autodesk Inventor and currently is authoring digital learning content for Fusion 360.
