Instructor Perspectives on the Virtual College of Texas
Description: A panel of instructors will share their perspectives on teaching courses offered through the Virtual College of Texas. They will address issues such as: why they teach VCT-offered courses, issues that VCT-enrolled students may present, requirements unique to VCT, and VCT’s impact on their workload. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. John Ray, Chair of the Texas Association of Community Colleges Distance Learning Advisory Committee and Dean of Information and Community Resources at Brazosport College. Preceding the panel discussion, Dr. Ray will explain why VCT was established, and Ron Thomson, Director of VCT, will give a brief overview of VCT’s operational model.
