HealthSelect Update

With the new plan year beginning on Sept. 1, the Employers Retirement System, which administers health benefits for full-time community and technical college educators, has released announcements for members who are in HealthSelect regarding their health insurance:

Start using your new ID cards

Be sure to update your wallet with any new health plan ID cards you may have received, including Optum Rx, which now has its own card. These cards can be especially helpful if you are new to a plan because they have the subscriber ID and group numbers listed, along with plan administrator contact information and the website address. It pays to stay in the network

The new plan year has begun and, if you are enrolled in HealthSelect(SM) of Texas or Consumer Directed HealthSelect, you will pay less for your care if you see providers who are in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) HealthSelect network. Rest assured, you will continue to have the same high-quality coverage you have come to expect. Learn more here.
