Institute for Emotional Intelligence: Teaching, Mentoring, and Coaching with EI

Thursday, January 27, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Institute for Emotional Intelligence invites all TCCTA members to participate in a one-day certification forum on developing emotionally intelligent students, colleges, employees, and organizations. Established in 2004, the annual Institute for Emotional Intelligence provides opportunities for educators, researchers, practitioners, and leaders to share research and practical applications in emotional intelligence (EI) for primary-secondary education, higher education, and business, government, or organizational settings. This one day pre-conference EI Certification opportunity is also offered to study the Education and Transformational Theory of EI with its authors, Dr. Darwin Nelson and Dr. Gary Low.

  • Introduce and model a practical theory and integrated practice for teaching and engaging for student learning and success
  • Illustrate the practical application of emotional intelligence for achieving academic and career excellence
  • Share research-derived best practices for improving student and college success for new and first-generation college students and adults returning to education
  • Provide the tools and processes for applying EI in education
  • Renew yourself with a positive and education model of emotional intelligence
