Friday, the Welding Technology Section will discuss the educational resources available to educators provided by Lincoln Electric, with speaker Carl Peters, Director of Technical Training at Lincoln Electric.

Biography:

Peters

Mr. Peters has been Director of Training at Lincoln Electric since 2003. He is responsible for technical sales training, the Lincoln Electric Welding School, distributor training programs, secondary and post secondary weld school programs and the Director of the James F. Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation. Mr. Peters has been employed by Lincoln Electric since completing his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering at Penn State University in 1979.

"Instructional Round Table"
Moderator: Brian Bennett, Welding Instructor and Program Coordinator, Hill College

Saturday morning the group will participate in a round table discussion focusing on welding education. Topics of discussion will include issues or obstacles, equipment, and techniques related to welding instruction.

Biography:

Brian Bennett is the Industrial Maintenance/Automotive Program Coordinator at Hill College. He teaches full-time in both the Welding and Industrial Maintenance Departments on Hill's Johnson County Campus. Mr. Bennett has an AA from Hill College, a BFA from Texas State University, and a Master of Education in Educational Technology from the University of Texas at Brownsville. His credentials also include multiple certificates as well as being an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector.
